Meet Michael Clayton, father of
a young boy, failed bar-owner and
proclaimed miracle
worker, at least at
far as legal issues
are concerned.
Expertly played
by George
Clooney, Clayton
works as a sort of
special consultant
for a major law
firm.
When law gets messy, Clayton is
called to clean up and fix the
problem. What exactly does that
mean? Well, the audience has about
two hours to figure that out.
Demanding complete attention,
this legal suspense film is not one
for casual viewers wanting a feelgood
ending. Forget mid-movie
popcorn runs.
Quality dialogue develops
exceptional, and at times complex,
characters and plot lines.
Although it is not a fast-paced
film, director Tony Gilroy keeps a
rapt audience as he incorporates a
good deal of the unknown while
avoiding a complete downward
spiral into senseless confusion.
Additionally, the cinematography
is outstanding and provides the
audience with artistic and poignant
shot sequences throughout the film.
